Self-Feeding Is So Fun...Right?

I continually have to tell myself that "self-feeding is so fun," because in reality I think it's a big mess! I mean look at this kids face, it's a complete mess. But, Jack loves to try to feed himself and if it means that he'll actually eat something then I suppose I can put up with the mess. Wouldn't it drive you crazy to have food all over your face? Amazingly it doesn't seem to bother kids at all. What's that all about?

Thriller

Again, it's back to the dancing. There are a few of us in my ward that are thinking about doing the Thriller dance for our ward talent show. Oh come on, what's more entertaining than a bunch of hip mommas doing Thriller? My only problem is that I can't find the dance anywhere on video. I've watched it on YouTube, but I need the video in my VCR (yes, I still have one) so I can memorize it and then teach it to the other girls. I've also looked for it on eBay, but I don't know that I'm willing to pay $30 bones for it.

So, I have a request...does anyone have Thriller on video? I just need to borrow it for a short time, and I'd even pay you to ship it to me and I'd ship it back.

Oh, and if you're in my ward and didn't know we were planning this, don't feel left out...it's an open invitation to anyone that wants to participate. I'll teach it to everyone, but first I have to get my hands on that video!!

Cinderella Had It BAD!!!

I learned from my Mother that there is only one good way to get a kitchen floor good and clean, and that is to get down on your hands and knees and scrub your little heart out. As you can see from the picture, my kitchen floor is not all that big but SERIOUSLY...my knees are always killin' me by the time I'm done.

You can't even really see me in the pictures (which is just fine because I was in my nasty cleaning clothes and hadn't showered), but Mike and I could not stop laughing at Jack who was desperately trying to break the barrier we had built to keep him off the wet floor. He kept getting so angry that he couldn't squeeze his head through the chairs.

A Valentine's Day Treat

I love any holiday that justifies me making sugar cookies. Unfortunately I ate all of them before I could get a picture, but they were cute...trust me. Anyway, here is a picture of Jack enjoying a frosting covered beater. And yes, he's in his PJ's. What kid doesn't need a little sugar high right before you put them down for bed?

I Heart Mike

How can you not love this face? Since I know Mike stalks our blog I thought I'd do a little Valentine's Day shout-out to him. Is that lame?...oh well if it is. I'm doing it anyway.

I love you so much Mikey. Thank you for being the most incredible husband and father a girl could ever dream of. I can't even tell you how much I appreciate all that you do for Jack and I. Thanks for being such a hard worker, and such a great man. Happy Valentine's Day!

Hip Hop Hustle

I'm noticing a trend with my posts...dancing. My only explanation is that it's just been on my mind lately. As many of you know I've been teaching various aerobics classes for about 7 years now. I've been teaching Turbokick, strength training, cycling, step, etc. I love all of these formats (except step...not at all of fan of step anymore) but I've been looking to expand my teaching horizons. If you don't know, it takes money and time to certify in any new format. I'm also a little OCD about my teaching. I want to feel like I can totally rock a format before I move on to a new one.

Along comes Hip Hop Hustle ("HHH"). I'm ready for that something new and fresh and this is it! I certified in HHH last Saturday and it is totally sick (in a good way). Honestly, it is the most fun and the best cardio of any dance class I've ever taken. Not to mention it makes you feel like you could show up for a hip hop dance video audition and totally nail it! Oh come on...you've never aspired to be in a hip hop dance video?...well, I HAVE!!

Dancin' Machine!

Tonight our Stake had a Valentine's dance. They started the evening with some dance instruction. We learned the Fox Trot and the Cha Cha Cha. Mike took a social dance class back in his undergrad days, so he was totally one step a head of me, but once that hip hop music came on I was all over that!



They provided a nursery for the kiddos, but we brought Jack out to enjoy a little dancing with Mom and Dad. He is actually quite the dancer, you can't tell from the photo, but he was cuttin' some serious rug...eer, hardwood. All-in-all, it was a fantastic night.

Oh, and a huge HOLLA to my friend Chris for dancing the night away with me while our husbands kept each other company on the sidelines.
